Charoite is a rare and striking purple mineral that belongs to the silicate mineral group. Charoite typically exhibits shades of purple, ranging from light lavender to deep violet. It often features intricate patterns and swirls of contrasting colours, including white, black, and grey. 

Charoite is relatively rare and is found in only a few locations worldwide. It was first discovered in the Chara River region of Siberia, Russia, from which it derives its name. Other notable deposits include Kazakhstan and Canada.
